Bio
Nishani is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Association of Accounting Technicians in Sri Lanka and Fellow
member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka. Further, she is a member of Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants. She is also a Graduate from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura Sri Lanka in Business Administration Special and holds a Maters of
Laws from the University of Cardiff Metropolitan University in United Kingdom.
Nishani has over seventeen years of experience in the field of Audit and Assurance including over twelve years in managerial level. Prior to joining
Moore Aiyar, she worked as an Associate Director for BDO Partners.
Her expertise in Audit and Assurance Services is widespread covering a wide range of industries from banks, finance, insurance, micro finance,
manufacturing, general trading, apparel, not for profit organizations and service providing organizations to name a few.
Further, she handled the risk management function of BDO Sri Lanka group, while working at BDO.
She is currently serving as a member to the Auditing Standards Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
Further she is the Alternative Chairman of Annual Reports Awards committee (TAGS Awards of CA Sri Lanka and Technical Committee of
Conference Committee and in Women Empowerment Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
She has served in subcommittees of Companies Act Law reform, Transfer Pricing and in the Exposure Draft of Conceptual Framework in the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
Nishani has conducted training on Sri Lanka Accounting & Auditing Standards for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Association
of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and BDO Sri Lanka. Further, she was a presenter to the training conducted for the Accounting and Auditing
Standard Monitoring Board of Bhutan as well as for the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan on International Accounting Standards. She has acted
as a visiting lecturer at the University of Colombo (Department of Accountancy) and University of Kelaniya in the field of Sri Lanka Accounting
Standards and Auditing Standards.
